With more than 20 years of experience on projects up to £15bn we have experience in delivery enhancement and continuous improvement strategy across a range of infrastructure and transport areas. Working on projects in Europe, the United Kingdom, America, Middle East and Africa, we have had multicultural exposure in a number of countries across the globe.
Medium and Large Projects invariably start under pressure and it is widely accepted that an environment of pressure is needed. When new teams get together at short notice and with a backlog of work to be completed in short timescales, chaos seems to be unavoidable. Severe time constraints lead to stress and sometimes costly mistakes.
Project Management sets out a delivery plan that guides teams. Our experience is that it often disregards or underestimates enablers. We support teams to develop a local execution plan, taking milestones from the master plan, that includes enablers and brings together a multidisciplinary team to visualise a plan and take ownership. This collaboration is crucial to agreeing a workable plan for delivery.
Overlaid onto the collaborative plan we introduce a system of daily reviews and weekly progress meetings in order to control the agreed activities. Daily meetings take the form of a stand-up 10 minute review and weekly meetings record actions completed, provides solutions to issues and challenges preconceived mindsets with regard to timescales and planning.
Measuring the success of completing actions in a metric leads teams to understand visually their performance and provides the impetus to strive for better. We provide a comprehensive set of tools in order to improve surety of delivery and indeed to continuously improve, instilling in teams a measured discomfort with the status quo and a sensible approach to execute better.
We believe in ‘Walking the Gemba (Shop Floor)’ and ‘Process Stapling’ where we seek to understand the unique challenges teams face first of all. There is usually no cost attached to this and we will recommend a roadmap to success based on our observations.
With managers we create a phased, realistic implementation plan with defined milestones. This translates the roadmap into a workable solution that can be cascaded to teams.
Managers should be fully bought into the process and the desired outcomes. We mentor and coach them with what is expected of them practically. Modelling the desired behaviours is key to our approach. Training is provided as required as we do not believe in training en-masse without due consideration of the business strategy and desired outcomes.
Reviewing progress periodically with teams and management we can assist in making the necessary course corrections and bolstering skills where needed. Ours is not a quick fix ‘In and Out’ approach. We walk the journey with our clients, although we do want them to be self sufficient in the shortest possible time frame.

Floris worked with us on Tideway at a critical phase of delivery as we commenced site mobilisation and heavy civils works. Floris is a highly skilled Project professional with some serious business improvement tools - all couples with excellent stakeholder management. This rare combination delivered some great improvements with significant tangible returns. All mega programmes need a Floris!
The best thing about Floris's extensive professional knowledge is that you would never guess he has it. Floris is able to translate his expertise into an accessible approach that engages all levels of an organisation. His quiet diligence means that he is able to keep momentum to successful delivery of outputs. Oh, and he is fun to work with too.
Floris and his team made a massive impact on our Tideway sites delivering continuous improvement and collaborative planning. Improving schedule and cost performance.
Only good things to say about Floris. We worked together in the early days of Crossrail, setting up the construction contractors and management processes. His clear thinking and process oriented tools were invaluable in the successful kick off.
Having worked with Floris whilst he was engaged by both the client and programme manager organisations, I can highly recommend his services to assist teams with initiating, developing and delivering a Continuous Improvement strategy across a major project framework.
